Fun first! We believe that games using blockchain technology are the future, but the blockchain has to be invisible for the gamers.

The problem with blockchain games

Pathbreaker is a game build for gamers, from gamers on the blockchain.

The terms "Crypto gaming", "Play to earn", "web3 game", "NFT game" have a bad reputation in the gaming community and here is why. For most of those games you have to purchase a very expensive NFT to be able to play the game, which could be a charakter, an item or even land. Most games entice you to play to earn and not play to have fun. In addition to that most of those games have tokens which are inflationary with tokenomics that will crush the games economy over time. Only a few player or most of the time investors which where "the early bird" can make a profit in those games and leave the economy at the first hype circle and all the other players will lose there money and think of the game as a scam and create FUD about "play2earn crypto games" in the gaming community.

Another reason why "crypto gaming or "play to earn" is not a successfull model is that a casual gamer does not know how and does not want to create a crypto wallet to buy crypto currency at a DeFi platform to buy NFTs on a marketplace to connect the wallet with the game before he can play a game. The easier the access to the game the better.

We are convinced that a blockchain game needs to be as easily accessible as a web2 game. Install the app, start playing. Pathbreaker players will not even notice that the game is build on the blockchain while playing the game and will still truly own all their in game assets.

We will not reinvent the wheel. But we will use the wheel and add new technology to move forward. We think 4 wheels with a body and a motor will carry you further, than a single wheel.

Gamers are already used to in game currecy or to purchase in game assets with credit card which is very similar to crypto currency and NFTs but they never truly own those assets because they are tied to the account and can not be used nor tradet at another platform. Those gamers will see the benefits of blockchain games when they can play a fun and addictive game, get rewards for playing or buy in game assets and also trade those assets on a market place or use those assets in another game or maybe have a show room with their most valuable items etc.
